How to Maximize Your Cooking Yield
Want to double your food output? This article is for you!
From warfare to gathering to crafting, New World has no shortage of activities where food consumables are available to buff your endeavors. The only downside is that, as implied in the category of “consumable”, these foods are of limited duration and one-time use. So what’s the best way to get more? Most will just resort to buying off of the trading post. But for the min-maxers among us who want to be New World’s next master chef and make their own, I’m here to show you the way.
Sources of Yield
Cooking Level
You gain 0.1% yield bonus for every Cooking Level.
- Level 50 = +5% yield
- Level 100 = +10% yield
- Level 150 = +15% yield
- Level 200 = +20% yield
Cooking Trophies
Your cooking trophies are limited to one per house you own, up to 3 maximum houses.

With three majors active, you’ll earn yourself an additional 90% yield in cooking.
Cooking Equipment
Chef’s Armor Set: +400 ROLCooking — 4% extra items chance when Cooking
Each piece of this five-piece set contributes an additional 4% yield while equipped, up to a maximum of 20% extra yield for the full set.
The individual pieces for the set can be found in the following locations:
[item_clothinghead_cheft5]: Elite Chests, located inside the Lazarus Instrumentality expedition
[item_clothingchest_cheft5]: [creature_damned_priest_named_07sm06a_elite], located in the Upper Harrow portion of Myrkguard
[item_clothinghands_cheft5]: Elite Chest/Mobs located in Ambusti Inferior POI in Shattered Mountain

[item_clothingfeet_cheft5]: Elite Chests/Mobs located in Ambusti Inferior POI in Shattered Mountain
Earring with [perk_perkid_earring_cook]: +400 ROLCooking — 4% extra items chance when Cooking
The [perk_perkid_earring_cook] is achievable on crafted earrings, and gear score has no influence on how effective it is. Provides an additional 4% yield, just like each piece of the Chef’s Armor set. If you intend to craft your own earring, you can use an [item_chefcharmt3], which is obtainable from crates, caches, coffers, and urns located in First Light, Brightwood, Restless Shore, and The Depths expedition.
Cooking Lifestyle Buff
[status-effect_chefspassionlsb]: +250 ROLCooking — 2.5% extra items chance when Cooking
This buff is acquired by owning a house within a territory which has the cooking lifestyle buff active. This buff costs the territory-owning company [coin_2500], and is active for 3 days after enough town board missions are completed.
It’s worth noting that the raw gold cost and opportunity costs associated with the cooking lifestyle buff make it just about useless. I recommend not taking any interest in this unless AGS applies a massive buff to it.
